On the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea, after decades of war, another battle is being fought now: that of the survival of thousands of Eritrean refugees fleeing from a dictatorship. There are 5 refugee camps for Eritreans on the border with Ethiopia, and life goes on with great difficulties due to the scarcity of water, the lack of first necessity goods, but mostly a lack of future.

Askalu Gebrehiwot was born in 1990 in Sudan in Refugee Camp called Tewawa. She moved from Camp to Khartoum when she was 7 years old. She finished her junior and senior school in Eritrean refugee school in Khartoum.In 2009, she got scholarship from the Windle Trust International to join Ahfad University for women and she graduated from school of business administration in 2014. She worked as a Program Assistant in students refugee in the Windle Trust International after her graduation. She came to Canada in October 2016. Since that time she has been an active volunteer in many different areas of many non-profit organizations.
Ethiopian immigrant/refugee who resettled in Italy then Canada. He is familiar with the camps being feature. He will also try to find a speaker who has lived in one of the camps.
