Ruben Figueroa searches for missing migrants who disappeared on the dangerous journey from Central America to the United States. Once a migrant himself, he now tries to give a face to the vanished thousands of men and women, lost in their search for a better life.

BINDU NARULA

Bindu Narula currently works as the Resettlement & Integration Services Division at the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society. She has worked with CCIS on and off since 1991 in various capacities such as Resettlement Assistance Program Coordinator, Special Projects Coordinator and Refugee & Immigrants Issues Strategist . She has a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Concordia University with focus on Refugee Studies. She was also an adjudicator at the Immigration and Refugee Board in Calgary from 2009 to 2015 where she decided refugee protection claims. In 2016, she returned to her advocacy role at CCIS. She has been involved with the resettlement of various ethnic communities of refugees over the years such as Colombian, Sudanese, Iraqi, Syrian and mostly recently the Yazidi from Northern Iraq fleeing ISIS. She speaks various languages such Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi and working knowledge of Arabic and French.
